Saudi-French-Filipino consortium wins SAR 221m water management contract
The consortium is comprised of Miahona, Saur Group, and Manila Water

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi National Water Company (NWC) has awarded a Saudi-French-Filipino consortium the third operation and management contract worth more than SAR 221 million for the Eastern Region for a period of seven years.

The consortium, comprised of Saudi Arabia's Miahona, France's Saur Group, and Philippine’s Manila Water, will undertake the operation of the water and environmental treatment services in the Eastern Region, which became entirely under the umbrella of NWC in March 2021, according to a statement on Thursday.

The CEO of NWC, Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Mowkely, said that the management contracts are one of the main pillars for improving the water sector ahead of its full privatisation.

The company has awarded three contracts for the operation and maintenance and plans to complete its implementation program by awarding management contracts for the remaining regions, namely Western Region, Southern Region, and Northern Region by the end of December 2021, Al Mowkely added.
